“Mongolian Mortgage Corporation HFC” LLC, which successfully implemented and developed the international standard of the secondary mortgage market in Mongolia, won the “ESG Management of the Year” award at the “Bloomberg TV Mongolia Awards 2023”. The Bloomberg awards recognize exemplary entities in the economy, business, and financial sectors that play a pivotal role in fostering the development of Mongolia.

Mongolian Mortgage Corporation's activities directly and indirectly target 12 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and became a member of the Mongolian Sustainable Finance Association (MSFA) in October 2021. Historically, our focus has been on disseminating fundamental company knowledge, followed by capacity building. We engage in research and foundational assessments to gauge the extent of sustainability implementation. Subsequently, we established a sustainability management system and integrated MSFA principles into the organizational culture. To increase leadership at the management level, we have established a Sustainability Committee under the Board of Directors and initiated the development of an internal reporting system to improve ESG reporting. Moreover, in 2021, the company redefined its values and strategic plan. Clear directions were established for sustainable development and ESG, outlining specific measures to be taken, and well-defined objectives were set and implemented.

Established in 2006 in alignment with international organization recommendations, the Mongolian Mortgage Corporation has steadfastly executed the government's housing policy for the Mongolian population. It has evolved into an international exemplar of public-private partnership. Over the past decade, the successful implementation of the subsidized interest rate mortgage program has facilitated 115 thousand citizens in acquiring homes, with 37 percent of them transitioning from ger areas to apartments. This tangible outcome signifies a substantial contribution to achieving sustainable development goals.
